Practicing petanque with indoor boule

Writer's picture: Phil BoarderPhil Boarder

Using Indoor boule for practice and / or coaching during the cold and wet winter months is ideal. The correct technique of standing in the circle and backswing can give great dividends when getting back out on the piste. All the different types of shot can be practiced with these boule. Squat pointing is one of those throws that can ache a bit after a long layoff in the winter. Using the boule to play indoors enables all the muscles and techniques to be honed. In my experience the only down side is standing on a hard surface when throwing, ( always feels a bit weird ) and the knock up shot does not tend to work with these boule very well. Warm, cosy and comfortable practice with just two issues must be a good thing. Bonuses outweigh the negatives.
